Where will we take photos?
We’ll decide together. Sometimes your home is the best place, and other times it’s a local park. Some my favorite sessions have taken portraits at home and then walked to a local park to play.

What if my kids don’t like sessions?
Ok, as a parent this one is challenging I know. And I totally relate to this because I’ve been on the other side and worried. I would try so hard to get my own kiddos to cooperate. But as a parent the best thing to do is lean into it and not worry. Trust me to take over and play with them. We get amazing images in the end! And I won’t allow you to feel bad. Kids are not supposed to like portraits. Many adults don’t even like them.
How do I prepare my kids for the session?
Well, I’d say a good night’s rest goes a really long way! Sleep is magical of course! You can also tell your child that you’re going to a park to have a fun photo adventure with a friend. And definitely bring along their favorite snacks! And one trick I love is to have something fun to look forward to after the session. Try not to use it as a bribe but just as a way of making it a fun experience overall.
